Yann-Alexandre Vano is a medical oncologist (MD) and doctor in immunology (PhD) graduated from the University of Paris.
He is currently a hospital practitioner in the medical oncology department of the Georges Pompidou European Hospital (Pr Stéphane Oudard), Paris, France. He is responsible for the hospitalization sector and the TIMEO Immunotoxicity Network.
His clinical activity is focused on adult urogenital tumours and more particularly on renal tumours.
He is affiliated to the INSERM1138 Inflammation, Complement and Cancer team at the Cordeliers Research Centre in Paris where he is developing the analysis of tumour microenvironment as a biomarker of response and resistance to immunotherapies in kidney cancer.
He is the coordinator of the randomized phase II study BIONIKK, the first study based on a molecular biomarker for the adaptation of first line treatment in metastatic kidney cancer.
He is a member of the Groupe Francais d'Etude des Tumeurs Urogénitales (GETUG), a member of the ESMO Investigational Immunotherapy Committee and a member of the European Academy of Tumour Immunology (EATI).
He is also Associate Editor of the journal Frontiers in Immunology.
