I have been a registered nurse since 2009 and have worked with kidney cancer patients since my first deployment at the Department of Urology at Odense University Hospital in 2009. I've got a Master of Science in Health Science and did my Ph.D. with the main focus on nephron-sparing treatment of renal cell carcinoma.
During my Ph.D., I have investigated clinical and patient-reported outcomes after cryoablation or partial nephrectomy of renal cell carcinoma cT1. I have been involved in writing national clinical guidelines on palliative treatment and enhanced recovery after surgery for renal cell carcinomas.
I am employed part-time as a clinical nurse specialist responsible for kidney cancer patients at the outpatient clinic in the Department of Urology at Odense University Hospital. Among other things, I work on optimizing the clinical patient pathway, training fellow nurses, and implementing video consultations for patients with renal cell carcinoma. Furthermore, I am a part-time postdoctoral researcher at the Research and Innovation Unit of Radiology (UNIFY) at Odense University Hospital. I research cryoablation as a curative treatment for primary renal cell carcinoma, a treatment option for oligometastatic disease, and a palliative treatment option.
I am particularly interested in patient involvement, enhanced recovery after surgery, patient-reported outcomes, and quality of life after treatment for renal cell carcinoma.
